Supplies

I have listed some of my suppliers at the bottom of the "Tools and Supplies" page.

1 mm cardboard: choose a rigid cardboard.

Patchwork fabrics

Fleece and wadding

Felt

Cord (3-4 mm)

Beads (approx. 1 cm)

Erasable pencil for fabric

Cardboard and felt glues

Embroidery Threads

  • Felt and matching embroidery floss: I used DMC white, 310, 347, 819, 760, 3045, 975 and 838.

Felt and thread used
  • Patchwork fabric: approximately 20 cm. You can use two different fabrics for the front and back of the decorations. I recommend plain fabric or fabric with small patterns so that it doesn't look too busy. The felt will be sewn on top.

  • Golden thread

  • 3 half-round rings, 1 cm (used in sewing)

  • Small pieces of ribbon, 1 cm, which will not be visible, to attach the rings: approximately 3 x 3 cm

A few details

- If your cardboard is gray or printed, glue a thick white or straw-colored paper over it to prevent it showing through the fabric.

Then cut a piece of fabric slightly larger than the template and glue it to the cardboard. Clip if necessary and glue the excess to the back of the cardboard.

- To cut out the felt, tape the templates on top and use small scissors to cut them together.
